Public Awareness Campaign and Events

The complexity.

The new South Norfolk Jordan Bridge will offer a convenient, alternative way to cross the Elizabeth River in the area of Hampton Roads, Virginia. Modern in both engineering and design, it will replace the existing Jordan Bridge that was closed in November 2008.

Hampton Roads, Virginia, is a congested area with an overburdened traffic system of bridges, tunnels and roadways. The developers of the South Norfolk Jordan Bridge needed to convince citizens and commuters that once the bridge is ready to accept traffic, it will be the option of choice.

The power.

Beginning in October 2010 and continuing through much of 2011-2012, Hellman will use integrated marketing communications to drive transponder adoption, public awareness and routing assistance for this major infrastructure project.

The smashing results.

The successful Construction Celebration for the driving of the pile foundations in December 2010 launched the beginning of an aggressive campaign to change the driving behavior of area citizens. The initial events of the new South Norfolk Jordan Bridge were well attended, and citizens now anxiously watch the construction progress. The bridge is on schedule to open Spring 2012.
